Good job!  You landed the date.  Let’s go over a couple of things that will help make the date a success.

First dates allow both you the chance to get to know each other better. I do not recommend distracting dates like concerts or the theater. These make it challenging to really have a conversation with the woman. Intead plan boring dates. Getting a cup of coffee is ideal because it is cheap and doesn’t come off as serious as a traditional date. Coffee dates are great because you can just get up and leave without the of paying a bill if the woman turns out to be completely rude.

The goal of the first date is only to get to know each other. This is likely the most important point I can make about first dates. I know you think she’s hot, but you really don’t know too much about the woman yet.  Just have a good time and learn who she is at this point. Learn what her personality is like. Don’t try to commit to memory a lot of corny “date questions” to throw at her. They are really easy for her to spot and only make you appear like a desperate loser. Just talk to her about herself and get to know who she is. Keep in mind that your aim is not to entertain the girl, it is to get to know her, so only ask her questions if you really care about her response.

I still feel pretty excited and anxious before I go out on a first date.  Learning about a new person and discovering what she is like is about as exciting as opening a gift on Christmas morning for me.  First dates are typically harmless, so there’s really not much to worry about.

Here’s another pointer for first dates. Try not to get your expectations up too high. Your only aim is to find out if this woman is worth spending more time with. Don’t expect too much, she’s probably not going to go home with you that night or let you feel her up in the restroom stall. Most girls decide ahead of time that they will only go so far on a first date. So, don’t try to beat it.  Just get to know the girl for now.

At the end of the date hug her and give her a peck on her cheek. This is one of my favorite ways of ending dates. This will make you look pretty smooth and charming. This lets her know that you are a good catch. A good man that isn’t just trying to score.

Above all else though, remember to have fun. Make the girl laugh. She is most likely a bit nervous about the date too. A good laugh will put both of you at ease. Don’t be too uptight to laugh at yourself. This will both make her laugh and illustrate for her that you are confident enough to laugh at yourself. Make up something lame that makes you appear so bad that the woman laughs like “My mom just dropped me off here. She is waiting for us to finish this up out in the parking lot. I can’t keep her hanging too long, so I have to keep this short.”

So keep these hints in mind on your next date. Keep in mind that your goal is to screen her to see if she’s worth more of your time. So don’t get too worked up.
